Module 4: Ongoing Support & Bereavement Care

Prerequisite: Complete Module 3. Responding to Initial Enquiries & Early Support This module explores the ongoing role of health professionals in supporting patients and their whānau throughout the assisted dying journey and beyond. It focuses on maintaining holistic, multidisciplinary care guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā, ensuring emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs are met alongside clinical requirements. Learners will gain insight into providing compassionate support during the assisted dying process and offering bereavement care following an assisted death.
